WHY I LOVE MY FITBIT CHARGE HR (AND YOU WILL TOO!)
Alright ladies, it’s already 11pm Tuesday night as I’m writing this and my FitBit told me to go to bed two hours ago, but this #Girlboss still has too much to do! Actually, I plan on going to bed immediately after I finish this post because I’ve been working on homework for the last three hours so (in addition to all day earlier!) so it’s about time. But I had to make sure I finished this post tonight because I want to share my favorite fitness tool with y’all!

OLD NAVY JACKET (SIMILAR) / UNDER ARMOUR TOP (SIMILAR) / NIKE LEGGINGS / NEW BALANCE SNEAKERS / FTIBIT CHARGE HR
For my birthday, in May, my Dad got me the FitBit Charge HR. I started using it in about June, and if you look closely in some of my outfit shoots over the last couple months, you maybe have seen this turquoise beauty! I’ve had it for awhile now, and I’m ready to admit: I’m in love.
WHY I LOVE MY FITBIT CHARGE HR
So I’ll talk about the basic features first, then my favorite feature, and some of the others I’m super happy to have as well!
There are five features to the FitBit Charge HR that I’m happy to have. First, it’s a watch, which is awesome because I check my wrist for the time when there’s nothing there and it’s real annoying. It will also track the calories you’ve burned, the steps you’ve taken and how far those steps have taken you, and the number of flights of stairs that you’ve climbed.
MY FAVORITE FEATURE
My favorite feature about the HR is, well, the HR. I love tracking my heart rate. I check it constantly, and I was measuring by hand before I got the watch, but it’s so much easier now. And I love that it also tracks my heart rate as I’m sleeping so I can see exactly what my resting heart rate is. Maybe it’s because I’ve always been a runner, I’ve loved watching my resting heart rate change as I hit the different peaks and valleys of training and retraining, but I’m totally obsessed with HR monitoring and, if that’s all this watch did, I’d still be in love.
Another feature I love is the gentle buzzing for alarms and phone calls. The HR syncs to my phone, so when someone calls me, I get a little phone icon, and then the name of the caller. This is so awesome when my phone is just in my purse, or when I’m working out, and I can’t see my phone, but I’m not sure if I want to stop and answer it. I also have my AM alarm set on my watch, so I’m woken up by the watch buzzing instead of the alarm on my phone or alarm clock blaring. I’m really sensitive to getting headaches in the morning from sound and light, so this feature has been a godsend!
SLEEP TRACKING
Speaking of sleep, the tracking sleep feature is another favorite of mine. The watch measures your movement and heart rate and records when you fall asleep and when you wake up. I knew I needed a lot of sleep to really be functioning and in a good mood, but this feature really solidified the 8 hours a night thing for me. My dad can go on just 5-6 hours, which would be so amazing, but it’s just not the case for me. Fortunately, I can set an alarm to come up on my watch and my phone to tell me it’s time to start winding down so I can have all the energy I need for the next day!
The last feature I want to talk about (although there are many, many more!) is the MyFitnessPal compatibility. If you remember last month’s #WorkoutWednesday post, I talked about my favorite fitness apps. I hinted about the FitBit last month, and I mentioned that you can track your meals on FitBit, but that I preferred MyFitnessPal (mostly because of the nutrition feature). Well, the FitBit Charge HR syncs to MyFitnessPal so I can keep track of my calories in vs. calories out along side my activity goals, water intake, sleep goals, and heart rate, all in one app.
HOW I USE IT
I check the app just about every morning to see how I slept and how I did the day before. Then I make a note to myself about what I should change that day to keep getting closer to my fitness goals. Fitness is always a journey, but the right tools makes it that much more enjoyable!
Have you tried the FitBit yet?
This post was not sponsored by FitBit, but I am a huge fan, and wanted to share my review for you ladies who looking for a new fitness tool or who are on the fence about the FitBit already.
