MOTIVATING MOTIVATION
I have to preface by saying I’m not extraordinarily pleased with this post. Well, the photos in this post. I cried a little because I’m a big baby. I’m by no means a professional photographer, but I take a lot of pride in the things I do. I always try to do the best given the circumstances, like outfit shots in a time crunch. But sometimes life just fights that. I took several photos to use today, two outfits. I’m only posting one because noise. This is a really good camera, but the second the ISO hits 3200 (and it’s usually AUTOing to 6400), the photo turns into something I’d expect from my Razr phone in middle school. I mean, come on. Nikon shoots better at a higher ISO in my opinion, but I love my Canon’s interface and the photos it takes in natural, good light so I don’t want to switch, even if I could afford it. But in poor lighting, even shooting in RAW the amount of noise is just ridiculous. But I digress..

I don’t typically get too dressed up during the week, if at all. I’m up late and sleep in so I’m usually off to class within twenty minutes of waking up. That doesn’t leave much time for hair or make up, or anything really. It leaves me feeling really sloppy and unmotivated, so this week I took the extra effort to wake up early and get dressed. Putting a sweater over a dress is the perfect way to compensate for freezing mornings and warm afternoons on the run. I was late everyday to class everyday, but more productive throughout the day. Turns out I just had to find the motivation to motivate myself. Now I need the motivation to keep it up, and a nice relaxing, DSLR-free weekend sounds like the way to go.
Here’s a glimpse at my first attempt at winged eyeliner. It came out pretty good for my first time, especially my first experience with liquid eyeliner. (Side note: it makes me so frustrated that my 10pm, fluorescent-lit iPhone photo came out better than the ones on my DSLR. If you have any ideas to help out my DSLR-tard, I’d love to hear them!)
