5 EYESHADOW PALETTES I’VE USED LATELY
I love palettes. Love. Them. I sort of collect them. But I have trouble getting use of each one. And it’s been forever since I talked about them here. So I started this new thing where I take a picture of a palette and use the draw on feature on my photos to mark off the colors I’ve used. I use the palette every day until I’ve used all the colors, with the goal of using at least one new color per day. It’s been amazing and my palettes are getting so much love so I wanted to share 5 eyeshadow palettes I’ve dug into yesterday.

MELT COSMETICS // ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS // KVD VEGAN BEAUTY // HUDA BEAUTY // MORPHE COSMETICS
I have quite a few limited edition palettes, so these may not all be available still. But hopefully if you have them, you’ll find the reviews useful for getting ideas. If you really like a color story, I highly recommend searching the palette on the Temptalia website – the dupe selection is amazing and I’ve been able to recreate entire palettes with it.
MELT COSMETICS MILLENNIAL PINX
This palette scared me a bit because the pinks were so soft and the dark shades were so dark. But this was the first palette I tried the trick of using a black to deepen an existing shade, and holy shit, it worked. I mean, no surprise since makeup artists do it all the time. But I really had my doubts I could do it. Still, I gave it a shot, first applying the darkest pink shimmer all over my lid. Then, I used the tiniest amount of black on the outer corner to darken the pink shade and give me some depth. It came out so well! I also used the black and gray shades as liners and loved the results.
ABH NOUVEAU PALETTE
When I saw this eyeshadow palette, I knew I needed it immediately. The color story just spoke so well to me. It’s still a reach-for palette when I need something I know will turn out well. My favorite shade is Fleur because it makes a great neutral but not quick-go shade. But I also adore Wings. The texture and application of Wings is seriously next level. I love it for an all over shimmery look.
KVD EDGE OF REALITY PALETTE
This palette is no longer available unless you get it from eBay/Poshmark/etc. But there is another KVD palette that looks fun as well, and the formula was beautiful so I’d be happy to pick up the new one. I actually found the whole palette really wearable, I used the mattes repeatedly to set the base for the shimmer shades which is my go-to method.
HUDA BEAUTY MERCURY RETROGRADE
I’m not sure if this eyeshadow palette is still available, but it’s a super fun one to pick up if it is. You can really get a wide variety of looks with one palette. There are a few truly natural shades, but most offer a pinch of color, mostly to the pink or peach end of the spectrum. The nice thing is the color is really wearable. You can amp it up to really dig into it, or ground it with one of the natural shades to dip your toes in the water.
MORPHE DIVINE NEUTRALS
I saw a review of this palette on Allie Glines channel and decided to finally pick it up. I was really excited for it, but now I’m not as sure. The formulas and colors were beautiful, so I think maybe I just used it out of season. I think I would have been more excited to use it in fall when I wanted deeper colors. I found most colors pulled quite pigmented, which is great, but in the middle of summer I like something lighter. The shimmers were also deeper. I want to take this eyeshadow palette back out in fall and see if I’m more excited to use it every day!
