7 AMAZON FINDS FOR OUR NEW HOME
I have a love/hate relationship with Amazon. On the one hand, I think their customer service is getting worse everyday and there is definitely an issue of waste associated with the packaging. On the other hand – I literally hate leaving my house so much even when it’s not a pandemic and I do love when things show up in a day or two. But that’s some cognitive dissonance for another time. For right now, I wanted to share some of the Amazon home related items we’ve picked up since moving to this new place!

I definitely feel like we’ve been able to make this house feel like a home a lot faster than our previous house. Maybe the apartment too, but I think we had to pick up a lot for the apartment. This house is so. much. smaller. than our previous and only a bit bigger than the apartment, so I think that ultimately is the reason why this place is coming together so much faster. You can check out more of my amazon purchases here!
THE RUG
This rug was a great little Amazon home find. I wanted something inexpensive for our front door, but it needed to be a good size and equal in length and width because of the entry tile situation we have there. I really don’t love the tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, so I try to keep them covered with rugs. It’s not the highest quality, softest thing in the world, but it’s working great for the purpose!
THE HEADBAND STORAGE
I’ve always wanted some cute headband display storage like this, so it was one of the first things I picked up for the new cloffice space. The supports can be moved which I’ve found super helpful for arranging some of my more awkward sized headbands. I have it set a little off center to fit everything neatly.
THE SHELF RAISERS
We have so many mugs. Like, it’s a problem and we should probably do something about it. BUT, I love them and I’m not going to bother right now, but I needed a way to keep them neatly in our coffee station. I picked up two sets of these shelf raisers, one for each shelf, and they work perfectly. I’m so pleased!
THE CURTAIN ROD
We decided to remove the closet doors in our master to make the space look bigger. But we wanted to keep the clothes covered. We opted to go with curtains. This is the longest curtain rod I’ve ever seen and it’s wonderful. It’s sturdy and fully customizable for quite a length.
THE CURTAINS
Aaaand it works great for the curtains we got. They’re actually like 4 inches too narrow to fully cover the closet, but it’s close enough. I may order another set for another panel, but I’m not sure it’s necessary yet, especially given how short of a time we’re here.
THE NESPRESSO STORAGE
We recently got a new Instant Pod coffee maker (not an Amazon home find – my nana picked it up from Walmart!) to replace an old Keurig that quit on us. The Instant Pod can make both k-cups and Nespresso style coffee, which makes it perfect. I had been wanting to go with a Nespresso this round. But the basket I keep the k-cups in is too wide to hold the Nespresso pods, so I picked this up to do the job. It’s pretty small, but the perfect size for the small space I had available for it!
THE ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
This entertainment center was the biggest purchase we made. I wanted something functional for organizing studio stuff right now, but also something that could be used in different ways later on. Something pretty. This guy is great, and really affordable for what it is. It’s doing the job just right and I think it will be great for a bigger house as well.
