LIFE UPDATE: WE MOVED!
Well, HELLO! And happy Friday. Soo things have happened. We happened to have moved. To California. Two weeks ago.

When we moved to Colorado in 2017, we did a little announcement post and, while stressful sure, it was quite prepared for. This time around, not so much. We knew it was a possibility as early as April, but I honestly didn’t see it being a reality in 2020. I figured everything would be keep being pushed until next year, given COVID-19.
Nonetheless, we started preparing in some ways – packing up little used things, etc. But when we got the official news, we had less than 30 days and we did the move fully ourselves. No movers. Let me tell you – never. fucking. again. So much of our furniture is damaged, I’ve never been in so much physical pain, and we had to leave quite a bit behind. It was one of the most stressful experiences ever. BUT we are on the Central Coast – where we met and one of our favorite places in the world. We’re coastal people, life just isn’t the same without the beach in day-trip distance (but now it’s just about a 10 minute drive!).
We’re only here for a couple of years, but we’re excited to make the best of it. And while I’m still incredibly anxious, I feel excited everyday to be here. Trying to unpack is frightful, but it’s getting done. Chris had been away at a training course half way across the country until today, so I’ve been tackling everything on my own for two weeks. Now that he’s home, I’m hopeful we can make this place feel like home in the next week or so.
I’ve been doing some chronicling of the unpacking journey if you’re into that over on Instagram Stories. I keep getting too distracted by unpacking to post to my feed, but hopefully that will be back to normal again soon as well! Ha!
What kinds of unpacking tips do you have? I still haven’t gotten the hang of it!
