THE BEST JUMPSUITS FOR LONG TORSO GALS
Happy Saturday, ladies! It’s Saturday, right? I never know anymore. For today’s post I want to cover a topic near and dear to my fashion-loving-heart: jumpsuits for long torso gals. Seriously, y’all, I can never find jumpsuits or rompers that work for me. For a long time, I tried just about any pretty one I came across, and it pretty much never worked out. BUT in all that trial and error, I’ve learned a few tips and tricks for jumpsuit shopping that have saved me so much time and heartache (no more falling in love and having the fitting room mirror tell me otherwise!). And I’m sharing all my tricks below, plus a few styling tips and how to make fit judgements while online shopping as well!

THE BEST JUMPSUITS FOR LONG TORSO GALS
The biggest problem for those of us with longer torsos is that a jumpsuit often tugs in all the wrong places. And it’s a general nightmare. Sometimes, just sizing up can solve this problem, and that’s my first recommendation. But sometimes sizing up leads to other problems with length or fit on other parts of your body. So if you’re going to try sizing up, look at jumpsuits with thin straps that are easy to shorten or are not structured (this, not this). You can also look for styles that have a little more blousing happening (like this one) or just fit a little looser (like this one) or are drop-crotch in style (like this one). It’s not a guaranteed win, at least you improve your chances of success!
The easiest jumpsuits and rompers to shop for if you’ve got a long torso are off the shoulder and strapless styles. Of course, sometimes these are quite structured (like this), but most often you’ll find styles like the one I’m wearing in this post. They have a little bit of blousing and because the length of the top isn’t as official as a sleeve or strap, you’ve got a lot of room to make it work!
(The above products may not be available any longer, but the images serve as perfect examples for what I’m talking about. To shop available products, scroll just a tiny bit more.)

I prefer blousier styles when shopping for jumpsuits because of the fit, but also because it can be pretty easy to add length to my legs. A wide leg disguises where the crotch actually falls and gives you the benefit of a skirt, especially if the waist line is a higher. But you still have that trend factor of a jumpsuit when you walk around!
You can also add a belt a little higher up to create the illusion of a higher waist (and therefore longer legs). I also like to wear heels or wedges whenever I’m wearing a jumpsuit to further that illusion. Even for someone with a “normal” or shorter torso, jumpsuits can easily make you look shorter, so leg lengthening illusions are always practical.
It can be useful to pre-shop or shop online when looking for jumpsuits as many models are quite tall and have longer torsos as a result. Take it with a grain of salt though, because they are able to size up easier with photoshoot pinning. But if it seems like it’s maybe just not quite long enough for them (like this one), there’s a good chance it might be the same for you. Only spend the time trying it on if it’s a style you’re really in love with.
