THE MOST FLATTERING DRESS STYLE YOU’LL EVER WEAR
Happy Sunday, ladies! How is your weekend going? It was fall break for me so the last two weeks have been a rush to finish things up around the house as much as possible. Today’s my last day off so I’ll be spending it getting organized for school to start again! Woop. And then football, because it’s a Fall Sunday. ANYWAY, let’s get into today’s post which is all about the most figure flattering dress you’ll ever wear. In fact, if you have one in your closet, you might just wanna pull it out tomorrow because it will hide the salty chip-and-dip induced bloat and everyone will think you’re a Monday person.

THE WRAP DRESS
Are you ready? You need a wrap dress. I firmly believe in making the most out of the closet you have and I try to tailer blog posts to that end. HOWEVER, if you do not have a wrap dress, you NEED to go out and at least try it on. This style is flattering on 99.9% of people, no matter their body type because it cuts your figure in all the best places. I know so many people who avoid wraps because of the annoyance of wrapping the tie around your waist. So faux wraps are an option, but they’re not the best example of the universally flattering nature of a wrap dress.
A faux wrap can be incredibly flattering as well, I mean, it’s the same style. The problem with a faux wrap is you loose the customizability of a true wrap dress. So if the waist line doesn’t fit perfectly, you’ll end up with bunching from it being too loose or tight. So if you’ve ever tried on a faux wrap dress and said, “Mmm, yeah this isn’t for me,” I encourage you to go find a classic wrap dress to try on. And try on a few because the necklines are sometimes cut a little differently and fabric and length matter.
But I guarantee when you find the perfect wrap, you will want to wear it for.ev.er. They’re just so comfortable, they emphasize your body in all the right places, and they hide all the little imperfections you want to keep hidden. Like the trough of chips-and-dip I ate before these photos.

One of the greatest things about wrap dresses is their versatility. They will always look a little nicer, just because they are so flattering. I mean, everyone will think you tried even if you’re just wearing the dress and a pair of sandals. BUT you can really dress up a wrap dress for just about any event.
For example, how I chose to wear this leaf print dress. This dress is a little more casual simply because of the pattern, but I wanted to give it more flavor by adding a nude heel that gave me extra height and made the floaty nature of this cut even more floaty and flirty. I also opted to go for more glam rose gold jewelry.
Even if the wrap was a solid black fabric, just what’s included in this outfit would dress it up gorgeously. You could give it more formality by adding more classic jewelry, like pearls, and opting for a clutch and an up-do instead. A pump, rather than a sandal, would add even more dressiness.

DRESS IT DOWN
Now, to dress it down. I love the way I styled this look because it’s the perfect in-between for dressy and casual. But to make a wrap dress more casual, you should opt for a sandal that is a much lower heel or a flat. A closed toe shoe will also work, but often makes it look a pinch dressy again because classy. Fabric matters, too, a matte cotton will look more casual that something with more of a sheen.
Depending on the season, you could also go for a woven or wicker bag which makes anything more off-the-beach-casual. Like I said above, because a wrap dress is just so damn flattering, you’re going to look extra put together no matter what you do. But hair that’s down and styled more casually will help imbue a casual vibe. Keep your jewelry simple and stay away from dressier pieces that are heightened by the figure flattering style. Depending on what you have in your closet, style it the same way you would jeans and a tee or a t-shirt dress (minus sneakers – I feel they’re too complicated to get right with most wraps). But a denim jacket and some cute sandals would be totally cute and casual and SO easy to wear!
Do you own a wrap dress? Have a convinced you to try one if not?
