SPRING STYLE ESSENTIALS + 2018 TREND REPORT

Happy Fri-YAY, ladies! So this week definitely didn’t go as planned for me. It was spring break for the district I sub for, so I thought for sure I would get so much work done. Nope. I slept until 10AM yesterday. HA! So I’m trying to catch up this weekend while Chris is at a softball tournament. Do you have any tips for self-motivating? Because I could really use those. ANYWHOO, today’s post is all about spring style essentials. I’m sharing a few different clothing and accessory options and trends, and I’m also talking about what will be my essentials this spring, in case your style is a little more casual like mine on a daily basis.

CLOTHING ESSENTIALS FOR SPRING

There’s so many fun trends happening this spring. One thing I’ve noticed is that black is less taboo than usual. Now, of course people are still loving bright colors and pastels. But a touch of black here and there can ground your look. Here’s a few trends that are really happening for clothes this season, and a widget you can shop:

Pops of black (especially black and white)
Check patterns and gingham in darker colors
Sheer, transparent, and open-lace details
Rainbow stripes
Polka dots (esp. black and white, y’all black this spring?!)
Mustard yellow
Pantone’s color of the year, a pretty lilac purple

ACCESSORY ESSENTIALS FOR SPRING

My favorite way to embrace trends is typically through accessories. This season I’m feeling very pulled toward some accessory trends, and very adverse to others. The feelings are strong this season, but here’s a trend report:

SPRING STYLE ESSENTIALS I’M LOVING

This spring, I’m trying to reach into my own wardrobe and pick up new pieces on a very limited basis. I picked up this jumpsuit and bag because I knew they would be classic pieces that also played on the spring trends. Also, I’m just thrilled to find a jumpsuit that fits me at least a bit.
