CUBICLE TO COCKTAIL: OFF THE SHOULDER
Happy Wednesday, ladies! How is your week going? Can you believe March is nearing it’s end?! I’m working on a goal update post for y’all, and I’d encourage you to think about your goals and how they’re doing now, too. Until that post, though, how about one of my favorite series: Cubicle to Cocktail. In today’s post I’m showing you one way to wear off the shoulder tops to work, and quickly transition them to happy hour. I can’t get over either of these gorgeous looks!

HOW TO WEAR OFF THE SHOULDER TO WORK
Take a look at all your off the shoulder pieces. Grab any that have looser arms or flowing ruffles like mine have. Those are almost sure to be work appropriate because you only have to do one thing: pull them up your shoulder. Y’all, that’s it. Just make it an on the shoulder top.
Many OTS tops have just a straight band that goes across, and those are a little more challenging to style up, simply because you’re left with something that’s way to tight on your armpits. But check out those pieces just in case as well. If you own a handful of OTS tops like I do, chances are you have one or two that will work. If not, next time you’re out shopping and find an off the shoulder top, try it on and see if you can style it this way. Unless you totally love it, leave it. Invest in pieces that offer a lot of versatility.

So making your look cocktail worthy is really a simple as pulling your shoulders off. Depending on your bottoms of choice, you may want to swap them out like I did. Or maybe you opted for a dress that’s good to go with just the simple shift. I really think this was the easiest Cubicle to Cocktail transition yet.
Honestly, without changing this outfit stepped up a bunch. I just wanted to take it further by swapping to pants and adding some earrings that sang a little more. But the look as is, shoulders down, would have looked adorable for date night. Subtly sexy and oh, so pretty.

Here’s a few simple formulas to keep in mind to take your look from Cubicle to Cocktail with off the shoulder pieces:
- OTS top + wide leg trousers + pumps
- CHANGE: Swap out your pumps for a more springy sandal or wedge to dress down your look for drinks
- OTS top + midi skirt + mules
- CHANGE: Swap your mules for sparkly pumps for a night out dancing
- OTS top + cropped pants + pumps
- CHANGE: Swap out your pants for cute skirt to take your look out on date night
What do you think about off the shoulder tops for work? Will you look at your closet differently now?
