HOW TO TRANSITION TO SPRING (WHEN YOU’RE STILL LIVING IN WINTER)
Happy FriYAY, ladies! How was your week? Mine started off pretty slow, but I’m working on ending it on a high note. The snow finally melted and the view I’m looking at while writing this is starting to show some signs of spring. Of course, this is Colorado, and I’ve already learned that it will probably snow a few more times lot more before summer, but let’s pretend alright. Today’s post is all about pretending the weather is better, actually. I’m sharing all of my favorite tips to help you transition to spring, while maintaining all the warmth you need to cope with cooler weather.

Scarves will be your best friend as you transition to spring. They can add so much variety and texture to a look, while being totally practical as well. Although I do wear scarves in winter, I have to admit, spring is my favorite season for them. While it’s still cold, stick to knitted scarves in pastel or soft colors. Too dark of a color will pull more winter in your look, so when styling those warm pieces, use more traditionally spring color palettes. You can also add florals to your outfit, which instantly adds a spring vibe, even with the coziest knit scarf.

Keep those toes warm as you transition to spring! You lose most of your body heat through your head, hands, and feet. So do your best to keep these places warm. Hats are a great touch. You can keep your hands tucked in your pockets. And booties are pretty adorable year round. In fact, if you live somewhere that stays cold a lot longer, buy booties a half size too big. That way you can wear your warmest socks and it will help keep all of you warm along with them!
CARRY A GOOD TRENCH
Last but not least, as you transition to spring, you will need a good trench. I recently picked one up from Amazon that was made with warmer material than the other trenches in my wardrobe. A trench coat is the epitome of a spring coat, so having a couple in different fabric weights can really help when styling your spring looks. On a colder day, you can opt for your warmer trench, and when it warms up in late spring, grab the lighter one. If you only want to have one or two in your wardrobe, look for trenches in a camel color. It matches just about everything, and can be worn for just about any season as well!
Are you lucky enough to be living in Spring? Or are you still stuck surrounded by Winter?
