THE PERFECT PAMPER ROUTINE
Happy Monday, ladies! I hope you have a fabulous weekend. I’m not much of a Monday girl, so I thought today’s post would be extra appropriate. Monday can leave me more exhausted than most days (except a Friday after a long week!), so sometimes I like to do something a little special to celebrate conquering the first day of the week and give me a little boost to make it through the next four days. I’m talking about my perfect pamper routine to take care of mind, body, and soul. Everyone’s perfect routine is a little different, so today I’m going to talk you through creating the perfect pamper routine for you.

GET YOUR MASK ON
A night of pampering just doesn’t feel right without a little skin/body/hair care. Whatever your preference is. Take a bath, if you’re into that or have scheduled enough time. Whenever possible, I go for the whole thing: bath, hair mask, face mask, feet mask (especially in the winter). But sometimes there’s only enough time for a face mask, and that works too. Just do something for your body. P.S. Check out this post for my favorite masks that take less than 7 minutes!
Maybe light up an aromatic candle or some essential oils, too. Lavender has incredible properties which literally cause your body to relax upon smelling it. A few other fragrances do, too. Plus, your sense of smell is one of the most powerful for eliciting memories, so if you stick to one or two particular scents on for your relaxing occasions, those scents will elicit those relaxed feelings the every time you smell them.
DO WHAT YOU WANT
Now that you’ve cared for your body, care for your mind. You do that by doing whatever the hell you want. There are definitely certain activities which encourage relaxation, meditation for example. But I have friends who find doing the dishes to be a therapeutic experience. So do the thing that makes you feel the most you. I switch it up between reorganizing my cabinets, reading a book, or just binge watching YouTube videos. Bottom line, this is your time to do something that makes you happy.
But don’t do work just because you’ll feel better after it’s done. Do something that makes you feel good during the actual process of doing it.
MAKE A PLAN
Last but definitely not least, make a plan. In fact, this should be step one, but I’m mentioning it last so it’s the most recent thing on your brain. Schedule your pamper and me time. Tell your significant other, your dog, your mom, tell everyone that at XX:XX you have an appointment and will not answer texts or calls or be at their mercy.
I know it can be hard to make that time, but it is important for you to relax completely and actually get the most from a pamper routine. Like a said above, do what you can with the time you can make available. That may only be five minutes – that’s enough time for quite a few masks on the market. So make it an appointment that you keep with yourself.
And turn your phone on Do Not Disturb mode if you like to use it as part of your routine. The world will not come crashing down while you pamper, promise.
How do you like to pamper yourself after or during a busy week?
