MUST HAVE TRANSITION JACKET TO SHOP THIS SEASON
Happy Thursday, ladies! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! I’m just thrilled it’s Pre-Friday. I’m living for the weekends these days, which is not my favorite way to live, but we all have those seasons in life right? If you have tips and tricks for dealing with those seasons, share them in comments below! As much as this blog is about fashion, it’s also about supporting each other through the ups and downs and using style as a uniting force. But speaking of style, let’s talk about transitioning to fall. On Tuesday, I shared how to transition your wardrobe to fall with a focus on dealing with the heat. And today we’re going to talk about the must have transition jacket: the bomber jacket.

WHY THE BOMBER IS THE PERFECT TRANSITION JACKET
A bomber is the perfect transitional jacket, in part, because it doesn’t scream fall. In fact, it really doesn’t scream any season – it kind of suggests more of a style than a season. That’s why pastel bombers look so cool in Spring. Second, a bomber isn’t excessively warm. Of course, you can buy bombers that are thicker and warmer, but I prefer the thinner versions in general. They also look great with denim and booties, or over a pretty summer dress like I wore in this post.
So because they aren’t incredibly hot and thick and because the style itself is so versatile, bombers are the perfect transition jacket to take you from summer to fall.
TIPS FOR FINDING THE RIGHT TRANSITION BOMBER
The most important thing to look for is the right fit. I have a long torso, so I like bombers are a little bit cropped and give me more of a waist to lengthen my legs. I also like styles that are fitted on top and bottom, with a bit of bagginess in between. That style is just the most flattering on my body type and the most comfortable for every day wear.
So think about your preferences. There are tons of cute bombers that are less fitted at the bottom and create a more streamlined (and less balloon-ed) look. You’ll also want to opt for a color that goes with a lot of your wardrobe. Olive or army green is one of my favorite colors ever, so it matches 99% of what I wear regularly. But black is another great neutral that will be easy to wear regularly.
If you have more of an athleisure style, look for styles with a stripe or sporty patch. More feminine styles are also gorgoues with pretty embroidered flowers and designs. But if you’re like me, and love to experiment with styles, look for a solid jacket. You can always pin a few patches on to edge it up, make it more feminine with a pretty dress or glitzy accessories, or shoot for a more classic and modern look with denim and boots.
