SUMMER BEAUTY ESSENTIALS
Happy Wednesday, ladies! I’m continuing the theme of last Monday’s post today by talking about summer essentials. I touched on one beauty product in that post, but today I wanted to focus on more summer beauty essentials. And I particularly wanted to talk about different finishes and why they’re great for summer! So let’s just get into it!

RED MATTE LIPSTICK
So this should sound familiar, I talked about how a red lip is a classic for summer in Monday’s post. But I want to talk a little more about this summer’s red and my love for a pretty matte. Red is such a gorgeous color, but it also stains and if you have one that slips and slides, you’re going to have a huge mess on your face. Which is why I’m loving a true red in a matte liquid lip. Formulas are a personal preference, but I highly recommend hunting one down to amp up your BBQ style this summer.
ULTRA GLOSSY CORAL LIP
But a red lip isn’t for every look. Summer is the perfect time to break out a coral color. Lip glosses are coming back this season, and if you’re anything like me, you don’t like your corals too bold. So this is the perfect color to pick up in an ultra glossy formula. If it does happen to slip and slide, it won’t stain and make a huge mess because the opacity isn’t there. But you still get that extra summery feel of a coral lip and a kissable texture.
CREME BRONZER
I’ve talked about creme bronzer before. I’m really a huge fan of it, but it’s amazing in the summer time. There’s something about the finish of a creme product that just looks so fresh in the summer. Creme blushes are a little more challenging to find (for me, at least), but I know I can count on a creme bronzer to bring out that summer glow. I challenge you to test a few creme products this summer and see what works for you!
SHIMMERING WET HIGHLIGHT
Speaking of the summer glow, a highlight is essential for getting that look. But don’t just opt for any highlight. Look for colors that pull the bronze and really give you that tan look. I also love to opt for highlights with a slightly more creamy texture because it gives the highlight more of a wet, fresh out of the water look that looks so gorgeous in the summer heat.
A GOOD SPF
Last, but definitely not least, you need a good SPF. Get it in whatever form you like, layer it up, just use it. I do like to get the smallest amount of a natural tan each summer, but sun damage is just so.. well, damaging. And it happens so easily. So try to get your color from a bottle and protect your skin so it stays healthy for years to come.
