CUBICLE TO COCKTAIL: SPRING FLORALS
Happy Wednesday, ladies! We’re well into our move now (I’m actually writing this post on the road!), and I’m getting more and more excited and nervous. It hit me yesterday morning that I was moving a place I had spent less than 48 total hours in, collectively, in my life. It seems crazy, but it feels right – and I see exciting things on the horizon! In today’s post I’m talking about taking your work look to after hours with one simple change. In this edition of Cubicle to Cocktail, I’m focusing on spring florals.

SPRING FLORALS
Florals are a trend that (obviously) never go out of style. Year after year, florals for spring are the norm. But it seems like they don’t quite infiltrate the work world as thoroughly or in the same form we wear them in casual life. There appears to be a difference between a work-floral, and an informal-floral, that I feel is totally unnecessary.
THAT BLOUSE
When I picked this top up a couple years ago, my first thought was: this will be perfect for work. And it is. But I was (and still am) so obsessed with this top, I couldn’t imagine wearing it just for work. Likely you have a top like this in your closet, one that just seems a little too fancy or conservative for everyday wear. I can almost guarantee it’s not.
TWO WAYS TO DRESS IT DOWN
A conservative button up blouse can be made cocktail ready in two ways: a fun-colored denim or a lighter wash; and a flirty skirt that grazes the knee, but isn’t too long. I thought yellow would really step up with this gorgeous blue, so I opted for a yellow jean to dress it down even further than a yellow skirt would.
