3 EASY & DELICIOUS HOLIDAY PARTY COCKTAILS
Happy Tuesday, ladies! It’s the Holiday Party kickoff week in my family so that means were about to start having some delicious and creative cocktails! We’re a family of mixologists and cooks – we just love to try random things together and see what we come up with. No doubt, many of these recipes have been tried and tested before, but we do try to experiment without help. In today’s post, I’m sharing a few holiday cocktails I came up with while exploring our liquor cabinet and pantry at the cabin. I wanted to make sure I used ingredients most people would have around already so I didn’t buy anything special for this post!
P.S. Obviously this post is for those 21 and older in the United States, but I’m going to disclaim that just in case.
ONE SIXTEEN BIJOU DRESS (SIMILAR) // ALL ABOUT U NECKLACE (SIMILAR)
TENNESSEE HONEY CIDER
– Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey
– Apple Cider
– All Spice
– OPTIONAL: cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves
STEP ONE.
Start with your cider warmed up as hot as you like it to be, then add a shot of JD Tennessee Honey. Remember, a full shot is only roughly 3/4 of the shot glass, so if you fill it to the brim, you’re almost pouring doubles. But really you can add as much as you like to taste. A cocktail aficionado might tell you that you need to have a specific measurements in each drink, but at the end of the day, you should be drinking what you like because you’re the one actually tasting it!
STEP TWO.
Top with about a teaspoon of all spice, taste it, then add more if needed. I love my cider with lots of spice, so I add a little cinnamon, and a tiny amount of ground cloves and nutmeg.
DRUNK APPLE CIDER
– Apple Schonauer (or another apple liqueur)
– Dark Rum
– Apple Cider
– All Spice
– OPTIONAL: cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves
STEP ONE.
Again, start with your cider as hot as you can stand it. Then add about 1/2 shot of dark rum. The rum flavor really comes through in this drink, so don’t add too much because it will overpower the apple.
STEP TWO.
Add another 1/2 shot of apple schonauer, or your other liqueur. If you want a stronger drink, add more of this one – not the rum – or you’ll lose that delicious cider flavor.
STEP THREE.
Cider without spice is just apple juice in my opinion, so add a little all spice to taste. You can also add some cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or cloves.
DRUNK CHAI LATTE
– Chai Latte mix or K-cup
– Kahlua
– Cinnamon
– – OPTIONAL: all spice, nutmeg, ground cloves
STEP ONE.
This one might be one of my favorites in this mix. Especially for an after dinner drink. Start by making a simple chai latte. I love the chai K-cups, but I always add a little more cream after it’s done. Next pour in about 3/4 of a shot of Kahlua. I find the Kahlua flavor to be quite strong, but a nice complement to the chai, so I start with less than a shot and add more to taste.
STEP TWO.
Cinnamon, cinnamon, cinnamon. It really helps make the drink even more cozy and less like a morning drink. Add a little, then add a little more to your own personal preference. I like a lot.
STEP THREE.
I like spice, what can I say. Spiced cocktails just scream holidays to me, so top of your drink with a sprinkle of all spice. I love cloves and nutmeg, but it will give the chai a more “Christmas-y” flavor, so add if that’s what your looking for! But if you just want a drunk spiced chai, stick to just all spice and cinnamon.
My goal with these cocktails was to make sure there was as much ingredient overlap as possible to satisfy your guests and your budget – plus it’s just easier! Which one sounds the best to you? And what’s your favorite wintery drink?
