HOW TO STAY WARM IN OFF THE SHOULDER TOPS
Happy Thursday, ladies! I’m still celebrating the blog’s three year birthday/anniversary and enjoying this new site. I’ve made some of the changes I was looking forward to in the anniversary post, but there’s still more to come! Today’s post, though, is all about off the shoulder tops and how to wear them when it gets cold out! I’ve heard some people talk about how they think it’s time to put their OTS tops away for the winter, but I just can’t. I love them too much, so I wanted to talk a little bit about how to wear them as the weather cools down in case you’re obsessed too!

ONE. ADD A SHEARLING VEST (OR ANOTHER THICK MATERIAL)
Jackets are a pain to wear with off the shoulder tops, at least for me. I feel like the sleeve constantly pulls up my shoulder and either feels super weird and chunky or actually tugs on my arm and hurts! A vest, however, is super easy to wear because you can keep your top pulled on your arms without it tugging uncomfortably under your arm. To stay warm, look for shearling vests like the one I’m wearing. A camel color is gorgeous and classic, and a thick shearling fabric will keep your core warm, and help keep you warm, without adding unnecessary bulk.
TWO. KEEP THE REST OF THE LOOK WARMER THAN YOU THINK
Exposing your neck and shoulders will seriously cool you down. So, go for long pants and boots, even if there’s really only a slight chill in the air. You can also opt for a cute midi skirt and booties for another fun look. Scarves are also totally acceptable and actually quite perfect. This is the time of year for the blanket scarf, which I’m totally obsessed with because you can wear it heavy around your neck or wrap it around your shoulders if you really can’t fight the chill there.
THREE. BREAK OUT THE FUZZY SOCKS
Hands, feet, and head. If you’re ever cold, warm up your hands, feet, and head first. For whatever scientific reason, you lose most of your body heat from these three places. So if you really want to warm up without looking like you’re trying to bundle up, grab your warm, fuzzy socks. If you had thirteen layers of clothing, you would be dying of heat. But since you might already be on the chilly side, by keeping at least your feet warm, you’ll help your whole body stay warm too.
FOUR. FIND THREE QUARTER LENGTH & LONG SLEEVE OFF THE SHOULDER TOPS
Finally, if you’re still shopping for off the shoulder tops, look for versions with long sleeves or three quarter length sleeves. Obviously, the extra fabric will keep you warm. And these versions would really be the best in the winter as opposed to shorter sleeves. If you’re not still adding to your collection, you can always add a scarf to keep you warm outside.
I hope you ladies are having a wonderful week and feel free to share below, How do you stay warm in OTS?
