Y’all! Happy November 1st, happy Tuesday, happy everything! I hope you had an amazing and safe Halloween and I’m so glad you stopped by today. As you can see, things look just a tiny bit different around here. After THREE years, I decided it was time to switch from Blogger to WordPress to allow more freedom to build and share amazing content with you all! Blogger has been giving me quite the headache the last year, so I’m hoping this new platform will make it even easier to share a variety of content types with you.

WHAT’S NEW?

Well, first you’ll find that the whole site looks a little bit different. The homepage should be a little more functional and easy to scan for posts that may interest you. The top bar also contains more information and drop down menus to help you narrow your search, or just allow you to see the kinds of content you’re looking for. There’s a few new widgets in the sidebar where you can find my latest Pinterest posts and shop my favorite products and my Snapchat.

WHAT’S NEXT?

A lot! Actually, there’s quite a few more changes I want to make to the site in the next month. Many of them will start rolling out this week, because they’re actually almost done. Unfortunately, I got the flu while designing the new site so some of the details had to be postponed. But don’t worry, that won’t affect any new content coming to the blog. Starting today, we’ll be back on our weekday post schedule. Below you’ll find a list of some of the expected updates:

SHOP PAGES. In the top bar, you’ll find the “Shop” dropdown menu. Currently, only the “Shop Blog Posts” item is live and the other two are under construction. Soon you’ll be able to shop my Instagram posts and shop my closet via Poshmark.

IMPROVED WIDGETS. The shop widgets on the sidebar are sized a little weird and the code is proving to be a challenge for me. I have a solution though, and I just need a couple days to sit down and implement it to perfection!

MORE PHOTOS. During the switch from Blogger to WordPress, many of the photos from previous posts were lost. Over the coming months I’ll be going through each individual post and updating it by adding images and improving the content itself.

UPDATED BRANDING. I’m a green girl, for sure. It’s my favorite color. But the current accent color is just a little to light for my liking, so I’m looking for the perfect shade. I also love my honeycomb background that reminds me of the passion I have which helped launch the blog. My hope is to incorporate those in new ways in the coming months.

IMPROVED PAGE CONTENT. As you’ll notice, some of the pages are under construction. During the next couple weeks, I’ll be working on adding the accompanying text to those pages.

A FINAL NOTE

I just want to say a big, BIG, THANK YOU to everyone who has read my blog over the last three years. I started Fashion in Flight as a way to share my love for style and beauty with a community who understood and shared that passion. It’s been quite the journey, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. You mean the world to me, and I love you so much! I can’t wait to see what the future brings
