HASK KALAHARI MELON REVIEW
Happy Wednesday! I’m still working my way through the Hask Hair Care systems, this week I’m talking about the Kalahari Melon system. I’m currently testing out the Bamboo Oil system, too, so that review will come soon! I’m super grateful these bottles are the perfect size for travel because I haven’t been in one place longer than a week for over a month until this week!
So the Kalahari Melon Oil collection is designed for colored hair. My hair isn’t colored, with the exception of a grown out balayage, which is just lightening, not adding color. BUT I am addicted to anything melon, so I had to try this. I also colored my hair a lot as a teenager (I went Ariel red for almost a year!) so I know what a good color shampoo and conditioner should feel like on the hair.
First, the melon fragrance was even better than I hoped it would be. Oh my gosh, I wanted to bathe in it even more than I already was! I have the shine oil tucked into my travel bag permanently because it’s so perfectly nourishing, shiny (without being oily), and fragrant! Considering I’ve been struggling with some kind of allergic reaction to a perfume recently and so not wearing any, the oil in my hair is a fabulous way to add a little fragrance.
Second, my hair felt amazing! One of the things you expect from a color protecting shampoo is some heat protection and extra weight to the strands of your hair. I definitely felt the residue when I washed the product out of my hair. And, I curled my hair constantly during the month I used this and didn’t notice any excessive drying or damage. If you’re dyed red like I was, you’ll probably still notice some color washing out or even heat damage, but red is notorious for that. If you’re color is not too far off from your natural shade, you’ll be happy with this inexpensive option!
If I didn’t donate my hair, I would have totally dyed it just to test out this baby for y’all. However, I may still when I’m ready for a trim so I’ll keep you updated on social media if I am able to and update this post!
What do you think of Hask products? Have you tried them?
