1 DRESS, 2 WAYS PART TWO: BEACH TOWN
Happy Thursday! Today’s post is actually a little throwback to the first big shoot we did before the relaunch. It’s also a little throwback to last week, I shared the first version of this dress, and today I’m sharing the second way I styled it. Honestly, there’s so many more ways, but I just wanted to share two. AND I’m sharing some tips for getting the most out of your wardrobe!

So I know I’m not the only one who spends hours on pinterest and blogs looking for new creative ways to style items that I already have. A lot of times that’s why you see “similar” items linked on the blog – because I try to wear what I own instead of buying new stuff every season. Over the years I’ve developed a few simple tricks that I test on just about everything I own to try and find other styling ideas.
SHEIN DRESS / STEVE MADDEN WEDGES (SIMILAR) / FOSSIL CLUTCH (SIMILAR) / KATE SPADE EARRINGS (SIMILAR) / KATE SPADE NECKLACE (SIMILAR)
Here’s a few ideas to try when looking at your dresses:
- Try it with sandals, heels, flats, booties, and boots. Just trying a totally different kind of shoe than you expect may spur ideas in your mind.
- Look at a color wheel, I saved this one and this one from google images to my phone’s favorites album. Whenever you try on your dress, try it on with colors immediately to the left and right and directly across from it on the wheel. You’ll end up with almost monochromatic looks and no-fail color blocked looks!
- Try it on with a belt, a scarf, and both – even a belted scarf! – these kinds of accessories can create totally refreshed takes on a dress that you wear all the time!
- Try your hair up, down, and in a half up. The different styles can sometimes be helpful for changing the vibe of the whole look!
What do you think? Do you make the most out of your closet or do you like to shop new items every season?
