HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
Hello, beautiful and HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! The 4th is one of my favorite holidays because I think it is such an important time to take a moment to reflect on the freedoms and sacrifice which form the foundation of this country.

It seems this election year, freedom, or lack thereof, has been a hot topic. But I want to take a moment to remind everyone, not just here in the United States, but any country who can also make these claims, to take a moment to express a little gratitude to the historical circumstance that made your freedoms possible.
Today, I’m especially thankful that I’m free to:
- Not just be educated, but to pursue education through to the highest levels
- Be respected in my field in STEM, as a woman
- Tell people that I fly airplanes and have it not be a surprise that a woman can do that
- Be able to talk about whatever I want on my little space in the Internet, and on the street
- Wake up in the morning and go to bed at night, and do whatever I please in between
- Make decisions about how I want to live my life and who I want to share that life with
That’s just a small sample of freedoms I’m grateful for in my own life that I know not everyone gets to have, wether we believe they should be unalienable rights of humans or not. The truth is, there is really so many more and I don’t even think I could list them all if I tried. You don’t have to be political to be thankful to live in a political system which defends your freedom.
So today, I challenge you, American or not, political or not, Democrat or Republican, to reflect on the history which has led to this very moment and express gratitude for three freedoms your thankful to have today.
Keep them to yourself, or share them with each other in the comments below. I can’t wait to see and share with you!
