LEATHER LINING
So this outfit pushed me a little out of my comfort zone. Once upon a time, a short black dress and edgy look would have been right up my alley. Lately, though, I’ve felt more comfortable in a pair of skinny jeans and a pastel blazer. You know, when I was more into minis, I did not feel comfortable in skinny jeans. Funny how things change huh? Anyway, a couple weeks ago we went to a concert around my hometown. I was totally stumped for what to wear when I remembered I had this dress that I picked up on sale even longer ago. I also quite nearly burned my finger off curling my hair so I wanted something easy to get into and out of later. Oops.
The burn was so bad, a day later I had a blister the size of a large bean on my finger. If you look closely you can see a burn on my ear, too. I dropped my curling iron. Then I grabbed it. The burn on my hand was the worst, it was about half the size of my distal phalanx (the bone above the last joint at the tip of your finger). I wrapped in gauze for two weeks just trying to protect it from breaking open. Great accessory to my outfits. I still haven’t gotten all the feeling back, but I’ll just add that to the lack of feeling I have from the time I nearly cut my thumb off making a snack about 8 months ago. Is it obvious how injury prone I am? Maybe my parents should have put me in a plastic bubble. And it’s a Monday – so I’ll be wearing my flatest shoes and most comfortable outfit because I don’t need to tempt fate anymore. #TG4Painkillers
