REVIEW: Pureology Fresh Approach Dry Conditioner
In my quest for amazing hair, one of the biggest things I worry about is damaging it with too much hairspray, heat, etc. As much as I love having pretty hair, having healthy hair is that much more important to me. I love conditioning treatments and try to get trims every couple of months, though still not as often as I should. Since I wash my hair every other day, I wanted to find something that I could use to condition it on the “dry” days.
Dry conditioners haven’t quite become as popular as their shampoo counterpart, but I really wanted to give one a try. The market selection isn’t that great and I didn’t want to spend a fortune, so I decided to start with Pureology’s Fresh Approach Dry Conditioner. I’ve been impressed with their products in the past, I recently tried their root lifter. The root lifter worked well, but wasn’t quite right for me.
On the other hand, I love this dry conditioner. The first thing I noticed was that the smell was amazing. Really, if it could be bottled up as a perfume I would buy it by the gallon. Besides smell, it did seem to work as a hair product. You spray it in, then brush it through your hair. I usually wrapped mine up in a clip afterward, but I tend to do that anyway. It made my hair feel extra soft and added just a little bit of shine. I wouldn’t say it repairs hair, but it does somehow seem to tame split ends so they aren’t so visible.
I haven’t noticed a lot of long term benefits from using it – I’ve been using it for about 3 months – but, I don’t know that that is so much the point. Dry shampoo is used to refresh day old hair, not clean it. I wouldn’t expect a dry conditioner to replace conditioner either. Lately, I’ve been using it only when I leave my hair straight, when the damage seems to look the worst for me. I’m getting down to the end of my bottle and will definitely be picking up another here soon. It’s probably one of my favorite products that I’ve tried recently.
