REVIEW: Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Spray Mousse
While I was in Texas, I tried a new root lifter. I’ve been on the hunt for something to add a little volume to my limp hair. Previously, I used Pureology’s Colour Stylist Root Lift. I liked it, but it was pretty heavy. I wanted to find something that didn’t make my hair quite so greasy on the second day. While I was picking up some travel products, I grabbed the Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Spray Mousse and I’m ready to share my thoughts on it with you…
BIG SEXY HAIR ROOT PUMP SPRAY MOUSSE
The Big Sexy Hair mousse is really similar to it’s Pureology counterpart, except lighter (Read my Pureology review here). I really had to use a lot of product for it to feel as heavy in my hair as the Pureology root lifter. I was happy about that, but I also didn’t get the same lift I got from Pureology. So then, I tried using different amounts of product each day to see what difference it made. I have a lot of fine hair which weighs down the back of my head where I want the most lift, so I applied the most amount of product there. Using the suggested amount, I could easily go two days without washing, by the third day I needed to get it out of my hair. That gave me one more day than I had with Pureology, I really liked that.
I think if I had the time – and the willingness to risk damage – to tease my hair my hair everyday, the Big Sexy Hair mousse would be almost perfect. It really did help lock in any teasing I did, usually teasing will totally fall out without product in my hair. But I just don’t have the time, and I really don’t want to do more damage to my hair.
Overall, the two are really similar. Big Sexy Hair would be great for hair that responds really well to just a little product. On my hair, I really need a lot of help, so if I could only choose between the two, I would pick the Pureology lifter. Having to use less product saves me energy, time and money, but I still would have to wash daily. Since I’m not incredibly satisfied with either, my search continues! Let me know your thoughts and suggestions!
Happy Caturday!
