GRADUATION GUIDE
Well, graduation season is upon us. Actually, it’s already started. I forget how early people get out of school! I’m stuck until almost mid-June. For my high school graduation, I happened to find the most gorgeous blue and white chiffon French Connection dress. I absolutely adored it. And then I tore the chiffon wearing it a couple weeks later when I leaned against a wall. It’s not a horrible tear and I could stitch it up without it being too obvious, but I was still devastated. I loved that dress.

Footwear is probably one of the most important parts. I love stilettos, but I wore a wedge to my graduation because we had to walk across the grass (even in a wedge, that’s not easy). Know where the event is taking place so you can plan accordingly. Next you need to decide how formal or casual the particular graduation is. Generally, I’d say indoor graduations call for a little bit fancier attire, but that really just depends on your area. The first two looks I created are a little bit more dressed up, the third is more casual, but amped up just enough to capture stares. These looks are great if you’re the one graduating, or if you’re just attending a graduation.
Another tip: think about the weather. I sure didn’t. I talk on and on about how resistant to curl my hair is. For graduation I curled it pretty close to time to go, hoping it would last through the ceremony. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing like crazy which totally destroyed my perfect Victoria’s Secret locks. If you’re nervous about the weather, an updo is a good way to go. Try this one, pull it fairly tight early on, if it gets a little disheveled by weather, it’ll still look great!
There’s no reason to get a dress that you will only wear for graduation. The majority of the time it’ll be covered by a gown, but you’ll create fond memories attached in it and you can think about every time you wear it. It’s a special occasion for you and your loved ones, so look your best and make some memories. And don’t forget to share them here with me! I’d love to hear your graduation stories! 🙂
