SUMMER ESCAPE
Do you ever imagine yourself running away to some place where no one knows your name and everything is a mystery? My favorite place to run away to is a beach in Mexico. Maybe I listened to too many country songs growing up, but it sure does sound exotic and wonderful and not quite too far out of reach…
I could think of a lot of places I’d love to escape to, but the magic of a Mexican getaway lies in it’s possibility, rather than impossibility. Well, it’s not as possible as I think it is. But it sounds like it. It sounds like less of a fantasy and more of an eventually, and I think people hear that in my voice every time I threaten to run off (about once a week, if we’re being honest here). Unfortunately, I can’t just up and leave to hide from my demons and troubles and responsibilities. Not if I want to be the person I’ve been trying so hard to be. But, if I can’t actually run away to a Mexican beach, maybe there’s a way I can bring the beach (or at least the clothes and attitude) to me. Starting with some affordable pieces, just to prove how close an escape can be, maybe inspire you to create your own?
Or maybe I could just stop waiting until midnight and fantasy strike to find inspiration for the actual writing part of posting. But what fun would that be? A girl’s gotta dream, after all . š
