DIY necklace and earrings. |
I mentioned on Friday that I had been DIYing a lot lately. It’s really been one thing after another, my class notes are starting to become filled with ideas, some of which I make at the end of the day as I’m relaxing and winding down for the evening. I love being crafty, but some projects just take too much time or make such a huge mess, it’s hard to motivate myself to get going. But I think I finally found some projects that are just the right combination of engaging and quick and clean.

I had been wanting to make some jewelry for awhile. I’ve made clothes before, but never really wearable jewelry; so, when the Anthro club needed a fundraiser idea, I had a great one. I picked up some supplies and started practicing, I decided on a macrame version because I thought both boys and girls would like it. I hadn’t done macrame in forever, so I made a few bracelets for myself before diving in. I even made matching bracelets for my little cousin and myself.
I got a little caught up. It’s turned out to be a huge stress reliever for me. I even made my mom’s birthday present, which is the third photo. I ran into the craft store last week to pick up more beads for the anthro club bracelets, my practice version is in the second photo, and I found some really pretty rose gold chain. I decided to grab it and some burgundy and mint pearls. The bracelet below was the first thing I made from those, then I tried the necklace in my feature photo and the matching earrings.
Next on my list are the mint pearls, I really want another bracelet like the one below in that color, but I also want to try something different. I’m sure it won’t be much longer till inspiration strikes, but for now, I’ve got 21 club bracelets to finish off!
